For Sale is a Savage Axis in 243 Winchester. It is mounted in a Boyd's Spike Camp pink/black stock. I mounted a CVL 4x-16x red/green illuminated scope. I took the rifle to the range and shot the attached 0.338" group with factory Federal ammunition.

I am a retired Engineer from a Class 8 truck manufacturer. Shooting, reloading, and gun work have been with me since my Father took me shooting for the first time when I was 7 or 8 years old. Now in retirement I have acquired my FFL and I do gun repair, restoration, and hand build Savage rifles. I build on both Savage Axis and Savage 110 platforms. Each rifle is assembled using blue Loctite on all threaded connections with the exception of Savage barrel nuts - those nuts are attached with red Loctite. The Axis rifles with the standard trigger all have a kit installed to help eliminate the lateral slop, and lower the trigger pull to approximately 3.5 pounds. My goal is to build every Savage rifle to shoot under 0.75" at 100 yards with inexpensive factory ammo. I also restore Remington model 742s and 7400s. The Remington rifles are completely disassembled, cleaned, and refinished with Black Oxide Durabake. The Remington auto-loaders I am satisfied with groups of 2" or less at 100 yards. On both the Savage and Remington rifles I like to use Boyd's laminated stocks, I spray automotive urethane clear on them for extra protection and the high gloss makes the wood look incredible.
Please send me a note if you are looking for a rifle that is not on my Sales page. I usually have approximately 200 plus guns in stock.
Thanks for looking.
